Nursing
Administration
The
Master of Science in Nursing Degree with a major in Nursing
Administration prepares nurses to assume the increasingly
demanding responsibilities of managing the delivery of care
at all levels of health service organizations. Based on
sound theoretical foundations, the curriculum focuses on
the practical aspects of dealing with numerous forces affecting
the provision of health care. Didactic and case-based approaches
offer the student multiple opportunities to synthesize the
body of nursing knowledge and managerial precepts appropriate
in a health care setting. Particular emphasis is placed
upon organizational behavior, financial management, and
the nurse's ability to impact the public policy development
process.
The health care
system is evolving rapidly and provides an extremely dynamic
venue in which to develop professionally. The health care
system of tomorrow will require evident managerial expertise
of leaders at all levels of the organization. The Nursing
Administration track at Armstrong Atlantic State University
prepares nurses who have demonstrated clinical expertise
to expand their roles to excel as future healthcare managers.
A total of 36
